About the National Informatics Centre (NIC)
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premier science and technology organization functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
NIC works in close collaboration with both central and state governments to implement Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects. It ensures that the latest advancements in ICT are made available to users across various government sectors. NIC plays a crucial role as one of the key providers of ICT services in government operations.
NIC has led the development and deployment of e-Governance applications at the central, state, district, and sub-district levels across various government ministries and departments. This has contributed significantly to improving government services, enhancing transparency, promoting decentralized planning and management, and enabling more efficient and accountable governance for Indian citizens.

Overview
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premier ICT organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. NIC plays a vital role in providing ICT infrastructure and support for various e-Governance services and initiatives under the Digital India programme.

Through its network of Centres in 36 States/UTs and 708 Districts, NIC undertakes the following key functions:

Technical Services:
NIC provides ICT support to various government offices at the district and taluka levels. The key offices include:
